this is my second time buying this lotion. i love that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky or dry like have other lotions have. the vanilla smell is much better than the passion fruit smell in my opinion.

The scent isn’t just a sweet vanilla like you’d think. It smells more like a vanilla you’d find in pipe tobacco. Perfect for a man as he likes that smell, not sure if a woman would like this. It does moisturize very well.

I use Everyday Shea (vanilla) all over after a shower. It rubs in quickly, and I happen to like the vanilla scent, which is not too strong. But what I really love about this lotion is that it keeps my hands from becoming the disaster that usually results from cold, dry winters. I use it on my hands after I wash them or do light dishes. Even if I wear gloves to wash a lot of dishes, I put this lotion on first. I have never had luck with expensive medical-grade greasy lotions for my severely cracked skin in the winter. I had tried many, many lotions and had even slept in moisture barrier gloves overnight, which is a royal PITA.Everyday Shea is NOT greasy. It forms sort of a waxy barrier on my hands, remaining there longer than other lotions–and other Shea lotions. I know this because I can still feel it on my hands the next time they’re under water. I always dampen my hands first before rubbing in a small amount, and then I add even more and massage into my cuticles and fingertips where I have the most problem. Before bed, I add a third coat and don’t quite rub it in all the way, letting it settle around my fingernails. I like that I can still open doors, use my phone, and handle bed linens, unlike with greasy lotion. When my hands are really bad from chemicals or handy projects, I add a coat of greasy medical-grade lotion on top. The greasy stuff only does good when I use it OVER the Everyday Shea.

Alaffia is the best lotion company. It’s all fair trade sourced shea and the products are made right in my hometown Olympia, WA. The lotion is AMAZING for dry skin and the best part is it is not oily at all. It absorbes quickly but leaves your skin feeling moisturized and plump. It also has a slight tightening effect. I love the mild smell and I can use it anywhere, even my face right near my eyes, and I have sensitive skin. It makes a good daily night cream for my face, and a great head to toe hand and body lotion.

I have tried many natural body lotions before stumbling on this brand, all were lacking in some manner; either the ingredients, price, quantity or packaging. This is a good basic body lotion. The smell is not very strong, but that’s fine with me. It’s got a good consistency, not too liquidy and not too pasty. A little goes a long way so I imagine it will last me a long time. I like to use this all over my body, including my face after a shower and it leaves your skin soft without being sticky and feeling like you are covering in oil. For the price, the quantity you get is great. My husband and I share the same bottle and since the smell is not overbearingly vanilla-like, he likes it too.The pump mechanism is strong and it is packaged well for shipping.. I have bought other products from different companies before and the pump was damaged during shipping. Alaffia takes great care with their packing to ensure that didn’t happen. I also noticed that they sell their products at my local Sprouts, not sure if there is a price difference.Overall, I would recommend this lotion. It’s free from harmful chemicals, good quantity, reasonable price comes in a sturdy bottle.

I am so happy with this product. My child has sensitive skin with mild eczema flair ups; any type of scented body products will trigger said flair ups but we don’t have to worry about that with this line of products.The bubble bath is great and this lotion is great. I love the light scent of vanilla and I especially love that it’s natural vanilla extract. This company has certainly gained a faithful customer!

We have been lovers of Alaffia products for years. This lotion is even better than the coconut one.It’s the perfect consistency, not too thin, not too thick. It absorbs quickly into the skin and has a very light vanilla scent. It Hydrates the skin beautifully.We live in a very dry climate. We put this lotion on our hands every night before bed and it helps our hands not crack from the dry air.If our hands are extra dry we will mix this with a tiny bit of aquaphor and that does the trick!

I’ve been using this body lotion for years now and love it! As a very scent-sensitive person, the vanilla used here is minimal/subtle and all-natural. As a person with very dry skin, the lotion is incredibly smooth and fast-absorbing. Doesn’t hurt that Alaffia seems to be a responsible and community-engaged company. Nice: 5 stars all around.
