Update: February 2021 – Just wanted to mention, I am still using this conditioner faithfully, but I no longer bother deep conditioning my hair first, and I simply use this like a regular rinse-out conditioner after shampooing my hair (I still use the same products mentioned in my review below, and I still apple cider vinegar rinse every weekend). I think my hair finally got to a point where I no longer needed to replenish as much moisture, so using it just as regular conditioner has given me the same results of soft, long-lasting moisturized hair. Holy grail product which has stood the rest of time!______For reference I have naturally curly (mostly 3a, some 3b sections) hair which is high density, fine, and INCREDIBLY low porosity. This is my favourite hair mask of all time, and I have tried dozens. I dislike scented products but this one has a very mild, pleasant scent that I enjoy and it doesn’t seem to bother my sensitive scalp. How I use this: I always deep condition my hair BEFORE I wash it–if you suffer from dry hair, try DCing first. I promise, it’s a game changer. I wet my hair down by dunking it in a bowl full of warm water and then layer in this conditioner all over, emulsifying the conditioner with warm water in my hands before I apply it. Do this until your hair feels like seaweed (slimy, soft, and totally moisturized). I then put a shower cap on and apply my hot heads heat cap over top and let this sit on my hair for about 30 minutes. Then I shower. I wash my hair with a neem-based sulfate-free shampoo (Theraneem) for a healthy scalp, then I do an apple cider vinegar rinse (while still in the shower), follow that up with a co-wash to get out any build-up that the vinegar didn’t remove (low porosity hair is notorious for build up and since i only wash my hair once a week, I can get away with vinegar rinsing and double-cleansing my hair without stripping it). Then I use the TGIN deep conditioner again but in a small amount, let it sit for 5 minutes, then rinse out with warm water. I’m left with the most nourished, moisturized, lasting-softness and it carries me all through the week. I just ADORE this product!

Best conditioner ever for my 3c hair. Amazing scent, great slip, and leaves my rinsed hair feeling more manageable. A bit on the expensive side, but a little goes a long way, and it actually tames my wild wild hair, so it’s worth it to me.

Low-porosity relaxed hair. Product junkie. Tried everything. Nothing changed for me until I started using this (along with the Lush Spray hair milk for curly hair). My hair is just transformed. It is now always soft, moisturized, manageable. IT IS CRAZY !!! I can do 2 days without moisturizing and sealing and it is still moisturized. And I live in Canada (if you don’t know winters in Quebec, trust me, you are blessed). Just buy it girl 💁🏾♀️

I absolutely love this product. I put the mask in my hair and opted to wait an hour instead of putting my head under a dryer. An hour later I rinsed the product and my hair was moisturized and soft. I am losing my hair due to surgery and not only is it falling out but it’s extremely dry and breaking. I highly recommend this product. It’s natural and you can’t beat the price 🙂

This is a great deep conditioner. I have super curly 4b coils. Caveat: Don’t expect to be able to detangle with this if you have 4b/4c hair. This is just for conditioning.
